Hating the haters

Both os these are brutal examples of hatred, but I wonder if the mainstream media thinks that hatred toward blacks is worse than hatred toward homosexuals:

This:

"I hate gay people. So, you know I let it be known, I don't like gay people. I don't like to be around gay people. I don't, you know, yeah I'm, I'm homophobic. I don't, I don't, I don't like it. It shouldn't be in the world for that or in the United States. So, yeah, I don't like it."

got very little play outside of sports media.

This:

"Shut up! Fifty years ago we'd have you upside down with a fucking fork up your ass. You can talk, you can talk, you're brave now motherfucker. Throw his ass out. He's a nigger! A nigger . . . "

ran on a constant loop on every major news channel for days.

Maybe the real comment on our society and the media that these incidents demonstrate is that the bigger your celebrity, the bigger the indescretion.
